History Built in 1878 the Esplanade Hotel was the first of the towered hotels in Gellibrand Street and the first 2-storey masonry hotel in Queenscliff. Here's an excerpt from the Esplanade Hotel advertisement in the "Queenscliff Sentinel" December 1882:
