At The Esplanade, we're delighted to help you celebrate any life event - and that includes weddings, birthdays and company milestones.

Functions can be held in Harry's on the Balcony or in our Private Dining Room.

Harry's can seat 80 people or 100 people standing, for a more casual cocktail style function.

Our Private Dining room seats 10 people or 30 people standing.
Private Dining Room Our Private Dining room has both a lounge and dining area, as well as its own access to the balcony.

Function/Room Hire Charge. To book out the whole restaurant there is a minimum spend and its availability is restricted to our regular trading hours.  There is a $100 charge on top of food and beverage costs, to cover cleaning and set-up costs associated with the function.  For smaller groups, either the Swan Bay side or the Port Phillip Bay side of the balcony is available for hire.
 

 

Beverage Service
The budget for beverage service is done in consultation with the function organiser and the final charge is determined on consumption.

In line with the responsible service of alcohol policy we do not offer a per head price for unlimited consumption.

 

Entertainment
For the comfort of our other dining guests only functions that book out the entire restaurant are allowed to have live entertainment.

We prefer entertainment that requires no or only a small amplifier. A five disc CD player is available for use.

Chefs selection of canapés can be added to any of the packages listed below at an extra cost of $5.50 per person.

Cocktail party functions
Cocktail Menu options start from $25.00 per person:

Canapes Menu A: $25.00 Additional menu items $3.00 each
Canapes Menu B: $32.00 Additional menu items $4.00 each
Canapes Menu C: $40.00 Additional menu items $6.00 each

Harry’s cocktail package allows you to design your own menu for that special occasion.

Simply choose 5 different items from one of our 3 Canapes menus, A, B or C. Each menu has a different selection based on a specific budget.

Our upstairs cocktail package is based on a three hour service period.

Beverages can be purchased over the bar from our full wine list, or a limited bar tab can be tailored to meet your preferences and budget.
 

Function Terms & Conditions:

  1. There is a $100 Function/Room Hire Charge on top of food and beverage costs, to cover cleaning and set-up costs associated with the function.
  2. A deposit of 20% is required to secure a booking
  3. Final numbers are required not less than 7 days prior. An increase in numbers is permitted up to 48 hours prior.
  4. Charges will be calculated on confirmed numbers or actual guests, whichever is greater.
  5. Final payment is required on completion of function. Final payment terms are cash or credit card only.
  6. Cancellation Policy: Cancellation up to 28 days prior 50% of deposit is refundable. Cancellation within 28 days of function deposit is non-refundable.
  7. All prices are based on 5 hours duration. Charges apply if additional time is required.
  8. Lunch functions must be finished by 5pm & dinner functions by 12 midnight.
  9. We reserve the right to amend menus without notice.
  10. General hotel policies apply at all times.
  11. Birthday & special occasion cakes are available on request
  12. Flowers and decorations are also available on request
